Operation Bellylaughs

In the 1970’s Gene Perret, lead writer for Bob Hope for over 20 years, invited Gordon to Hollywood to audition for a program and learn the ropes in the comedy clubs. Two years ago, a women wrote a letter to Gordon, telling him how she sent his comedy CD to her son who was aboard a ship in the Gulf.

After mentioning this to his next audience he found several other parents who had children serving in the military and OPERATION BELLYLAUGHS was born.

Inspired by letters his dad had written to his brother in WWII, and by the example of Bob Hope’s yearly Christmas trips, Gordon set out in his own small way to follow in Bobs footsteps ( and BILLY GRAHAM’s). He invited several of his colleagues in the Christian Comedy Association to donate items to include in these “Packages of Joy”.The super seniors group, where Gordon pastors, stuffed and addressed them, and off they went to our troops.

Now years later, 1000’s of DVD’s have been send to our men and women in the military in 7 different countries.
